I found some old posts that it is not a easy thing to do.Would really appreciate it if someone with a first generation Ranger could give me a measurement of the indented part of the tailgate.Thanks

I would think you would looking,for a 06+ tailgate.

I just love the first Gen.Ranger tailgates.I'm old school like you. Looking now for a wrap to get put on my tailgate. You can buy the F O R D letters but I like the 3 dimensional look.

That would be nice,Like I said, I read old posts and they claim they won't fit .I would really like to find one, but they go for a huge price,plus really can't afford a bunch of fabrication, so looking into a 3D wrap now. If I can order several at a good price, might try to sell some on FleaBay.

I'm right there with you, Bob. Love the look of those tailgates. Like you, can't afford the cost of the donor tailgate, fabrication work along with body and paint. An alternative might be the F100 / F150 brushed aluminum overlay, although I'm not sure of how wide it is... may be too wide.

Thought about that too,but I like the indention and framing of the 1st Gen Ranger better.I thought a 3D wrap would work, at a lot less money and If I get tired of it just peel it off. A 3D printed plastic one would be cool too.I ask someone to photoshop me one on my Ranger a good while back.

I thought about it, time you buy one and get it painted like that, I would have over $200 or more in it. If I sell lots of lawn mowers this year, still might give it a go.

Thanks Howard! Going to pick up 2 mowers in about a half hour to start the year. Still have money left over I saved last year, so I did pretty good.Love to tinker in the garage.LOL!

So I am assuming you buy used lawn mowers, fix what's broken, spruce them up and resell them?

Exactly, great easy money maker for old retired guys,plus I meet a lot of nice people and try to help the needy out some. Plus my dog likes Burger King nuggets.
