Default Check gauge light

My check gauge light keeps coming on and going off. I've checked the fuel gauge. It shows full. No signs of overheating either via the temp gauge or symptoms. The battery gauge seems fine. Any ideas?

Is your oil pressure gauge steady at halfway?

Hmm, good question. I'll check in the morning and post back. Thanks for the response.

Ok on the 30 minute trip to work this morning the oil pressure gauge stayed steady in the middle. Check gauge light came on and off about 4 times.

i recall a similar situation when my alternator was dying. the battery gauge needle on the dash didn't move a whole lot when the light came on, so i didn't notice initially. when i pulled it off i still didn't know for sure lol, until i had it tested at the parts shop that is.

----------

also, i think i've seen the check gauge light come on whil eburping the coolant system after a flush.

I did just have my heater core replaced about a month ago. I will take it to get the alternates tested as well. Thanks for the help.

Alternator checked out okay. I noticed this morning that my oil pressure gauge was bouncing and acting weird. Seemed to be mainly when pulling out from a stop. The tach jumped around some as well. May be time to go to shop.

How many miles? If over 100k and you still have the original camshaft synchro that may be the problem, yet even if it isn't you should reppace it anyways.

Yeah. It has 151,000 on it. I'm not very mechanically inclined. Is that a hard or expensive thing to do?

When I bought mine, it was $126 and it was only hard to do because I messed up and stripped the bolt that holds it in. There is a writeup on here somewhere that you can read through too.
