Default Replacement Valence

I have a 2002 XLT 4x4 with fog lights. I've been searching for a replacement and I'm confused on which model I need. Mine appears to be model #2L54-17B635-CAW but I cannot find any info about this model number anywhere. There are several replacement models online I find at like rock auto and eBay but it's not clear to me which one is correct.

I needed one for my 2000 off road, went to the body shop, they knew just what I needed and ordered it, price not much higher than e-bay, and got it 2 days later.

There are two similar ones for the 2002 model year. Make sure you get a picture of it, because they're pretty much exactly the same (with fog lights) but one has the cut out for the level II tow hooks and one doesn't. That's probably where the confusion is coming from.

Yeah your truck doesn't have the LVL II tow hooks so you'll need the one without the cut outs.

Thanks! Another confusing thing is the ones I see that don't have the cut out say without 4x4 package. Mine is a 4x4 so what makes it different than the ones with which appear to have the cutout.

Are those tow hooks seriously over $200 each? I'd have to pass on that.

You can find deals on them.. or other types.

Not trying to advocate throwing money away, a smart purchase is key of course but at some point a $200 [give or take a few dollars] set of hooks may have been the only way of a expedient, safe, and your reason a recovery was successful or with no damage. just saying.

People spend $200 nightly for a weekend of just shots at a bar.. lol

And now that I look at it.. A list price of $349 for a valance for ONLY $69 now? I hope you weren't expecting Genuine Ford parts either..

True. That does make sense. Is there any reason my current tow hooks would be incompatible with the valence with cutouts?

No I wasn't. As long as it's quality it doesn't have to be genuine ford.

Im sure you could upgrade to the upgraded valance and always change out the hooks later if you wanted to.

And quality I agree with, Not saying you should pay $349 for that valance but I cant help wonder what motivation a company has giving away an 81% discount and still able to make enough profit to be content with on a product? Quality and service are the TWO biggest questions that remain in my mind.

You want the one that says without FX4 package. The 4x4 and FX4 package for the 2002 year were different vehicles.

Can you explain the differences that would affect the valance concerns for him? And I might learn something more of the newer versions myself.
