Hey everyone
I have a 99 4wd extended cab 5.0 v8
Was considering doing a 01-03 front swap but now I am thinking of just maybes upgrading 98-00 parts
Thinking new headlights, grill, bull bar or brush guard? Tail lights, side steps
I have found some eBay/amazon things I wanted to bounce off you guys
I'll post them up in a bit
Just looking for some input
Can we see a picture of your truck as it is right now?

Ya bought it probably about a year ago
Guy did it all and did a hell of a good job
Body has 94k miles and the engine like 10k
Only problem I have had I the damn PATs
Also got some shocks on the way
Now thinking about some of the upgrades I mentioned above
I thought I made a post earlier but it would seem it didn't work.
You seem to have a great deal of ideas along the same lines as I typically do
I have the nerf bars and bed rails
I personally don't care for the euro altezza tail lights, they don't look good on many american made cars to me
I was about to do the exact same bull bar but opted not to at the last minute.
The front end swap is cheap and easy and will give you a far newer look. I did the 01-04 style front end and most people who see it are baffled to hear it is a 1998 model.
I didn't much like fitment of the big grill guards, they look like an "afterthought" when installed to me. I've had grill guards on other Fords that I liked, but the ranger is just so small and the guard is so big. Perhaps there are some higher priced models that look better that I haven't yet seen
The billet bar grill looks good too.
I was also on the verge of doing the projector headlights with HID, but the HID kits out there these days can be of questionable quality. I used a set on a Honda (ugh, yes I had a little jap car but only for work purposes) The ballast had to be replaced several times in the kit I had, which was free to me, but it was the aggravation of the need to constantly replace and wait for it even though it didn't cost me anything. In the end I bought a couple extra ballasts and bulbs and then sent in the bad stuff for warranty.
I wish I had the 5.0 swap, that is an awesome mod. And probably the one most desired by everyone who isn't trying to get 500mpg. Got any pictures of that?

How much did your swap end up costing?
I was just thinking if I upgrade headlights and grill maybe a bullbat it will help update the look.
Just looking for ideas still

QUOTE=low2.3;1489068]This will be past mods and future mods to come on both my trucks one lowered one lifted so little bit of something for everyone.
Started in Oct. 2011 with something like this
Then kinda went through a few changes
Then got an explorer rear for $40 that was lsd and 4.10's so I decided to put it in (lowering the rear 5") and bought some belltech 3" drop springs
Then came DJM control arms putting drop at 5/5.
Then cut 1 coil so 7/5 drop
Then wreaked it......
Then jokingly a friend said lets do an explorer front end swap and I was like fuck yes! Lol so it began
Made a raised transmission crossmember
Then C notched it and added 3" block putting drop at 7/8

I definitely appreciate the work that went into that explorer front end swap. He did an amazing job putting it together. For me though, I couldn't see putting the time and effort into grafting on a two decade old design from a common everyday vehicle. I preferred that truck with the newer front end style before the accident. But, it's not my truck, my time, or my money. Just my opinion. And my opinion is pretty much worth nothing to anyone but myself.
