2017 Ranger 2.2 Diesel
Yesterday, in Mexico, I took delivery of a new Ranger crew cab with the Duroroc 2.2 Diesel engine. All I can say today is that it is an amazing truck, a great value at under $18,000 (USD + Tax). I have two other Ford diesels, '02 Excursion '05 350 Econoline, and have owned many makes of diesel vehicles, including Volvo, G wagon, Pinzgauer and Mercedes.
Ford did their homework, this new model is very stable at high speed compared to the last crew cab body style (I had a 2010 XLT gas).
In a few weeks we are making a trip to the U.S. And can get a mileage check then. Although a base model it comes with A/C, bed liner and Pirelli tires. The gas models in the crew cab begin at about $14,000 USD+tax...great prices at the moment. The XLT 3.2 diesel 4x4 automatic, fully loaded with GPS nav, full power seats/Windows/cruise, steps, console fridge, etc, about $26,000 plus tax.
This truck will upset the truck market in the US in 2019....if in fact it does get there.
