Default Got back my low end power

After 115,000 miles, I finally cleaned out my MAF, throttle body and IAC. I was going to clean the EGR, but that didn't want to come loose even with the engine at temperature, so I'm leaving that for some PB Blaster and another day.

All in all, it was quite simple and only cost me some electrical contact cleaner for the MAF and some carb and choke cleaner for the throttle body and IAC. I had a slight idle issue that's now gone, I've got better throttle response and I now have enough power to take turns in 3rd gear again. I'm lovin it.

I figured I'd post this up for anybody having similar issues. It's cheap and easy, so it's worth a shot.

I did them at 100,000 miles. I may switch out to Autolite plugs or Motorcraft. The place I went to only had Bosh and I'm not impressed. I'm also thinking of picking up a Screamin Demon coil pack which should hopefully add a little bit more.

x2. I finally did this the other day at 75K miles. My throttle body looked like crap and so did my IAC but I'm glad I did it. My truck feels like it's brand new again.

I put the screamin demon coil and the livewires and they definitely make a differencc.

Cool, I'm sure it will make a difference on my truck as well with 115,000 miles. Unfortunately, my truck is way overdue for inspection, so I've got to tackle that first before I can get to the coil pack.

How is the Screamin Demon coil usefull for the trucks? It will overheat the engine and finally damage your engine so I recomend don't use the Screamin Demon coil.

Do you have any information on the Screamin Demon coil pack, or any other coil pack damaging the engine? I haven't heard anything like that and I'd like to read up on it if there is any.

has this happened to you personally? I have both the screamin demon coil as well as the live wires on the 05 and there is nothing like what you are stating going on with our truck. matter of fact, the mileage has gone up by about 2 on the highway. although, I have a good tune up and use 93 octane. anytime you up the ante on spark, you should at the very least, up the octane. simple solution for simple problem.
