Angry Carwash suds coming out dashboard vents.

Ran my 2011 Ranger through a carwash today and suds were coming out of all the vents. Floor and Dash. I took a video of this happening and still photos as well. Showed the video and pictures to the service advisors and they had a mechanic come up to look also. I was told that was normal if the A/C blower was on high the A/C in the A/C position.

Anyone else ever had an issue like this before?

Never had that happen on any of my 3 Rangers that I have owned.
My uncle had that happen on my aunt's Ford Windstar a long time ago, but that night my buddy and I had pulled a prank on them which included a bottle of Dawn Dish soap on the windshield, when he rinsed it off he had soap bubbles in the floorboards when he ran the defroster. (yes I was quite the turd in my teen years).

So if you had that on your Ranger you used WAY TOO MUCH SOAP.

Too much soap (X2) or drainage is restricted.

No...but I could imagine soapy water getting in somewhere after going thru a car wash.
Take a peek inside the engine bay, see if you have a bottle cap off or some disconnected ducting.

Captain Obvious is correct since it is only place soapy car wash water could enter the system.

Thought I post results from Dealer. I talked to two independent auto repair places, and both the independents said they would be glad to take my money, but the dealer diagnosis is correct for the situation presented.

Weird.

But on the other hand they fixed the air bag recall.

"No repairs performed at this time found system to be operating to factory design".

You do realize that there is only one outside air intake for the HVAC and there is a drain provision on each side of it, correct?

Edit: there is a condensate drain located on the bottom of the box that contains the evaporator. For good measure, it probably wouldn't hurt to verify that this allows water to drain readily and with no restriction.

Your dealers screwing you. Never should that happen. that means when it rains and that drain fills, water will get in. Clean the drains out.

Self help is normally >> dealer/shop help, but of course, one must invoke the process. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it.
