Default My 2001 B3000 Mazda is killing me

I get this direct short....no big deal just corrosion on the positive battery cable. So after taking it apart and cleaning it up, everything is as normal.
EXCEPT my oil pressure gauge needle is now on the bottom side of the peg. How does that happen and is it related to the battery cable removal?
It still has it's range of motion it's just that it's below the peg. Can any of you good people tell me how to fix the gauge and or what the hell happened?? Thanks

This has been posted dozens of times, it is either the sensor or gauge itself. The gauge is worthless because once the pressure rises to 7-9 psi, the gauge will read the same whether the pressure is 7 or 60 psi.

Rangers do it too. Lol

Heard you can use a strong magnet to try to move the needle. But I'm not positive on that.

After a trip to the Ford dealer he said I would need several hundred dollar
and a sign note from God. Something about the mileage reading. Any way I drilled a small 1/16 (?) hole and inserted a wire with a slight hook on the end. Easiest thing in the world. The plastic is somewhat curved so use care when starting the drill or it will want to drift. The small hole is not very noticeable unless your looking for it.

It is only 15 screws to get to the cluster and 7 more to remove the lens... A half an hour job and you don't need to destroy anything by drilling holes

Yeah seriously. I think it took me longer to drink my coffee and unlock my toolbox than it did to remove the cluster and flip the needle back around. There is no reason to drill into the cluster.
