I said bring back a mid size truck (a real mid size, not those 80% of a full size truck that they call mid size), that gets that kinda mileage. I didn't say a mid size truck ever got those kinda numbers, I'm saying they should though.

What's out now is a real midsize, the rangers were not a midsize

Re: Ford Ranger Returning in 2019
Times change. Still don't like the apparent size of the new, upcoming Ranger but the wife and I have started talking about buying some form of camping trailer... i.e. pop-up style either canvas or hard-sided model (hard side more expensive but I personally like them better.) This means probably around 5000# behind the truck and I'm not so sure my 2.3L dual-ignition model has the grunt to drag one of these around and I absolutely refuse to go full size for such a small, lightweight (by comparison) trailer. Can't really get any enthusiasm for a slide-in camper either, though my mind could be changed. I saw too many of the older type that grossly weighted down the bed and unbalanced the trucks carrying them. (Owner's fault for buying more than the truck was built to handle.) I'd rather tow and I will admit the new Ranger at least looks better than most of the competition.

Re: Ford Ranger Returning in 2019
I'm not impressed by the pictures I've seen of the upcoming 2019 Ranger. I don't really like the design. If I buy another mid-size truck it'll probably be a used 2011 Ranger, if I can find one with low mileage at a fair price.

I wouldn't buy the 2019 Ranger even if I did like the design. There's an old saying about never buying a first year model (it's best to wait another year so they can get the bugs worked out). I know that Ford has been making Rangers all along in other countries, but not here in the USA. So technically the 2019 will be the first year back of production. Enjoy your new Toyota truck when the time comes.

Is it a garage queen? 45k miles is low miles.
My 2010 has 248k miles. No other 2010 2.3 has more miles than mine. If so i wana see prooof.

Re: Ford Ranger Returning in 2019
I went to cars.com, entered in the advanced search, and searched 2011 Ford Ranger (with those characteristics I wanted), and entered under 30,000 miles, then searched the entire country. I found like a dozen. I eliminated anything in the northern part of the country. I settled on a Ranger Sport in Indiana. Made the purchase. The dealer delivered it to me (485 miles) the next day. Beautiful truck. Just like new. --There were several others that I really liked. One with just 15000 miles but it was white and I wanted a black truck. If the find is many miles away you can take a flight out to it and enjoy a road trip back in your new ranger. Make an adventure out of it.

Re: Ford Ranger Returning in 2019
I've never felt cramped in the Ranger, and most of mine have gotten 22 or so on the highway. Not counting the 3.0 I yanked because the heads were bad and had almost zero compression, of course. Ride quality was perfectly fine for a truck.

Well yes, a 20 year newer suspension design does help.

all 4 of my F150s have either matched or beat the MPG, ride a hell of a lot nicer, lot more room, a lot more refined and more power. Especially my 2.7 in my 2018

4 new trucks in 7 years. Are you dumping them fast for a reason.......I haven't had any problems with my 2.
Both get exactly what the EPA sticker says.
