Cause when a ranger was 20k, a f-150 was 40k.

True - That probably will have a fair impact on any decision from Ford to bring the Ranger back.
The market today (which is focused on high dollar trucks) has essentially created a big enough "dead space" in their lineup for a $32k-40k truck without cannibalizing the money maker that is the F150.

Question, when you can get a nicely equipped f150 4x4 for 40k, where does that leave the ranger at?

There will be so many new questions about "how big a tire can I fit on my 19 ranger" and "I can't find a lift for my 19 ranger, will a lift from a 11 work?"
Wonderful.

VaIid...but as a Medicare/ baby boomer aged guy...for me they missed the new ranger intro by about 5 years when I had more impulse and expendable buying power.
New priorities are to wisely spend the retirement money or if you got it go crazy on a sports car to flaunt, hauling extended families/grandkids around, more road trip vacation time in a comfy touring car or destination extended stays.
No need for a new truck to replace what I already have...a little truck that I can maintain myself and be a good a project getter, lumber yard, dump run beater.

The F-150 has a starting price of $26,540...
Personally, I'll have the F-150. I'm going to need a Crew Cab 4x4 for my next truck anyway...the extended cab with the jump seats in my current Ranger doesn't work well with a family of four on camping trips and whatnot. I just don't see myself spending the extra money to get all those upgrades on a new Ranger.

trying to compare apples to apples here but that starting price is for a bare bones XL v6 2wd Reg cab. For a bare bones XL crew cab 4wd you're looking at 36k.

This is so true when you need the room but still need a truck.
So far nobody has said o yea take my money now.
Want a Ranger that seats for four, with an interior power package, leather seats and a nice v8 upgrade...
that's a sport trac that nobody wanted and to my eye looks like the world Ranger

Here's an idea for Tom, start a poll- who can't wait and would buy the new ranger.
And could sell results to ford marketing...just don't call it totm poll or you get no response

I was referencing the earlier post regarding the starting price for the '19 Ranger being around $25k. Only $1,500 less than the starting price on the F-150.
It's a moot point anyhow...When I do move on from the Ranger, I won't buy a brand new truck. Something 5-6 years old with around 50-75k on the clock is probably going to be more up my alley. Unless I hit the lottery between now and then
