I hope the new Ranger coming in 2019 looks more like the old one that was last made in the USA back in December of 2011. I'm not a big fan of the current design being sold outside of America. I saw one in Australia last year and it just didn't get my Ranger juices flowing. http://www.torquenews.com/sites/defa...ord_ranger.jpg

They will be making only one Ranger model. While you can expect the current world Ranger to get an update at about that time, the NA Ranger will be the same.

If they brought the ranger I drove on my deployment last year, manual diesel, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Loved the hell out of that little truck.

Thanks for the heads up. I hope the update meets my approval.

as a family man with 4 kids, I'm excited about the Everest/Bronco that is rumored. Do you know how many reasonably priced 4x4 7 passenger vehicles there are out there? Guess. One. that's it, kinda. The 4runner can be had with 7 seats, but not with the TRD packages.

anything else is way above $50k.

You can buy a real nice house in Detroit for less than 50K because of their crappy housing market. But then again...who wants to live in Detroit?

Maybe if the nice house was next to the high school with metal detectors and the neighbors under a bridge with blown semi truck tires to hold up the rusted chain link fence, then yes I'd prefer an outdated pool truck

The Ranger you have pictured looks more like the old American model than what they sell in Australia. I'm glad you made it back alive from your deployment safe.

yea, that isnt built on the t6 platform. The next ranger will be built on the t6 platform, with a facelift for the north american market. It really wont have anything in common with the old ranger, and thats a good thing.

bingo

facelift with a more american styled front end. Different interior, and different powertrain options.

the AMA we had has now shown up all over the automotive journalism websites lmao. Car and driver, road and track, jalopnik etc. Hilarious that a simple little ama on reddit could be blown up so much.

It's definitely going to have the interior technology and comfort like my moms 13 escape or my sisters 14 focus. I don't like that ****pit feel when I'm behind the wheel, fucking hate it. Seat warmers, dual electronic thermostat control, 17 buttons on the steering wheel, can't find the switch for the rear wiper, the Microsoft Sync system is annoying.

And to top it off I reached up and pulled gently on the rear hatch handle to close the trunk and the fucking handle assembly broke off. Just isn't old school

Give me a vinyl bench seat with no cup holders and I'm happy.

----------

Really I can't say ****pit

----------

The part of the plane where the captain does captain things. That place.

Thanks Logan.

I've been in and driven the current version (and it's Mazda brethren) they have over in Australia, and I can't wait. They're a touch bigger than I'd like, but that's just the way all newer vehicles are now. Really great pickups. That 5cyl 3.2L turbo diesel is a great motor (other than apparently you shouldn't let the oil drain for more than 5-10 minute when doing a change or it'll lead to an improved pump and oil starvation on start up). The 'poverty pack' models have just the right amount of amenities for me.

Also if they brought over the Everest and called it an explorer, I wouldn't hate them for it. But dear god please don't let them axe the diesel and the manual trans with an honest to god manual transfer case selector.
