Default After searching and searching ... I've found my Ranger

2003 Edge, 6 cyl, auto, 112k miles. Truck is mechanically sound, it's got some rust starting to bubble through in the cab corner, but that's expected in Rust Belt, U.S.A. All in all, I'm excited, I've been looking for one in solid shape for months and found one. Everything around here in NY is all rotted out junk.

Nice truck. I guess I got lucky. My truck came from Michigan and I don't have rust. Just got some exhaust work done and the guy was amazed how great it looked underneath given where it came from.

Having issues already - coolant is leaking somewhere under the alternator. Going to be giving the dealer a call who I bought it from.

Just glad I bought it from a dealer and not a private party. I have some protections under the law because of that. Dropped it back off tonight, will find out more tomorrow. Just hope it isn't anything too major. >_<

Of course I'm going to keep looking/saving up more money. I'm kind of more afraid now, however. I'm just glad this was through a dealer and not through a private party or I would have been S.O.L.

Was probably the front timing cover gasket leaking. I did that fix on my vulcan and it was a funnnnn experience. They will all do it eventually. But definitely not something you want to deal with on a newly purchased truck.

YUP. That was the issue. I had the garage fix it, apparantly the bolt was real loose the mechanic could turn it with his hand. I decided to keep the truck because I like it so much.

___

I want to put an aftermarket head unit in it. I'm reading that there are different audio packages for the rangers. Mine has a MachMp3 player, do I need a special harness?
