Default Is it worth the money?

First, sorry if this is in the wrong section.

My dad's truck (Penguin) needs a new bed as it is eaten through with rust all over. My friend told me he would sell me his bed (with flares) taillights, and towhooks (it's a 2004 fx4 level 2) for $500. Also, no rust on any of this. Good price or pass?

Also, I am unsure what color his truck was, but those pictures are all the same truck as far as I am aware. My dad's truck is Black.

pics don't work but that's a great price for a rust free bed. is your friend parting out the 2004?

I wasn't sure how much beds go for, but in Michigan, rust free is rare so I had to ask. He is parting most of it out... keeping a few parts for his other truck and sold the engine, tranny, and rear axle (that I wanted, 4.10 lsd) for $5000... I can't compete with that.

Are there any other parts I should scavange?

Tow hooks are going on my truck 😜

I just redid most of my interior on my trucks and whatever I get I would resell on here...

Gauge cluster I feel like he would either sell it for cheap or for a lot, and I don't want to pay a lot for it... I know, I'm too scared to ask. Just seeing if I remember right, the one in that truck would be silver, right?

Edit:
That would be an 04 cluster that if i remember right would only work with 04 trucks. So who could I sell it to, and if I wanted it in my truck would I have to get some computer out of his too?

People pn here would buy stuff. Especially cause it's got a full black interior. The gauges I believe are different? They will work on 04+ trucks

Oh, I forgot it had black interior... I might want that! Haha, probs not though!

On 04+ trucks the gauges are weird. I did a lot of research when I went from an 06 to a 02 and 03 because the biggest thing I missed was the cluster.
To me it sounds like Ford wasn't sure what type of system they wanted to run the gauges on and what security system they wanted to use ao they changed it all the time and they can't be interchanged. I am not sure if I remember that right but that is what I think it is.

Edit:

This link states changes in the clusters.

99 cluster to +06 cluster ?
99 cluster to +06 cluster ?
