I fully expected that to happen, but as long as you keep moving, not too fast or slow, generally you should be fine!
Is that why you are having transmission problems?

Sorry for getting back into the thread late, busy week, busy weekend. I don't think I'd ever intentionally drive into to deep flood waters unless there was some dire reason to do so. And as far as being careless while chasing storms, I don't think I'd be as reckless as this person during last weeks flood in South Carolina.

If you're a stormchaser, then you should place high value on equipment reliability and make this a top priority. Putting things like axles, transfer cases, wiring (and other things) doesn't promote that. Unless of course, you want to spend lots of time maintaining these items, or pay someone to do it for you. Also, as you're beating on the chest ready to drive through all that water, think about the stuff that may well be hiding in there that you can't see, stuff that can ruin your day (or even more).

*Look at the stormchasers over on the weather channel and we know they could have most anything they want....then consider buying a compact FWD Chevy like theirs.

That's just stupid right there. I wouldn't go through anything above the center of my wheels.

In my pursuit of storm chasing, it's not just floods and 'naders I have to watch out for, it's nature itself. See the 7:00 minute marker of one of my videos...

I said deers because my English isn't perfect lol. It wasn't the only one I had to deal with the week that clip was shot. The area in which I travel a lot is a 50/50 mix of country and city but to them it doesn't matter. I was showing overall feelings toward deer when I made that remark.

Was browsing some car videos and came across this. Hopefully you heed the message of the video, because driving through water comes at a price. Literally.

Yes, I am in the United States. And yes I also did see the Scotty Kilmer video on water damage to a car. That looked like a superb eruption from under the car.

Deepest I've been is probably 2/3 up the wheels. Didn't have a choice that time.
