It's 25 years old & rusted, it's not going to be. You can't buy a 25 year old truck and expect it to not have problems.
Unless you do your own labor then you need to expect 2-5k in repairs & maintenance per year. Just the way it is.
Buy it then next thing you know none of the front suspension has been replaced, then 6 months later the transmission starts slipping, 3 months later fuel pump goes out etc

Just a little warning, people like him ^^^ on here think rust automatically classifies a vehicle as junk

Lol at the first part, if im stupid does that make you a vegetable?
And yes, an overly rusty vehicle is usually junk. What other wisdom can you bestow upon us

Id check around to see if you can find something a little newer and taken care of for a little more. I purchased an 03 fx4 that was seldom taken care of, I've had to change shocks, leaf spring mounts and shackles, fluids, serpentine belt, and the whole front suspension should really be redone. If I didn't do my own work it probably would have cost me a small fortune for the repairs. If my 2003 with 74k miles when I bought it needed those things, I wouldn't doubt you're walking into something that could cost you serious money, even putting the work in yourself. Check around, don't jump the gun for something that could cost you in the long run.

Re: To Buy or Not to buy
Thread started in August, 2015. Wonder if he bought the truck or not, and if he's had to make any repairs in the last year?
