Started disassembly for the shock replacement. Got the old shock out to realize the new Bilsteins don't come with lower bolts. So I'm stuck waiting till tomorrow. Awesome.

Replaced cv joint on front drive shaft. Noticed the oil leaks on the valve covers are getting worse. Also saw oil leaking from front pinion seal and possibly passenger side front axle seal. Oh, and there's some gunk on the passenger front brake caliper, so maybe a blown wheel bearing. Could explain the random abs code I've been getting. Noticed the 4wheel drive was acting funny. Wouldn't go into 4hi and would bang into 4low. After playing with it some more, 4hi started working. Noticed that it will now let me engage 4low without having to be in neutral.

My ABS light was coming on when my driver side bearing was bad also. Hasn't come back since I changed it out.

Haha yes, it's nothing new to me. I've replaced more front wheel bearings than I can count. In fact the one in question was replaced not too long ago. I rarely drive the truck so I would be confident to say it's got less than 1000 miles on it. Should still be under warranty. Now I just need some motivation to actually jack the truck up and check it out.

I’m now 99% sure I have the 2wd shocks when I need the 4x4 length. This is the gap with the wheel on and full load (truck is on the ground). Not sure if I can return these as I test mounted them.
On a more positive note, I replaced the spark plugs and wires. Old plugs were gapped around .75. Gapped the new ones around .55. So much difference. Truck pulls much better in 5th gear now.

Finally fixed my windshield wipers on my 83. Ever since I got the truck They only worked on High and whenever they felt like working. Finally after driving in the rain a week or so ago they stopped completely while i was driving on a bridge. (Scary Much?). The intermittent Relay box under the dash had burned up solder joints. (likely from the fire the P/O had before I got it.)

Pulled the ranger in. Going to be doing chassis saver paint on the frame and on the bottom of the bed over the weekend. Changing fuel filler neck.
Did injectors and replacing valve cover gasket. I forgot to take pictures of the valve cover but I cleaned that up and will paint it a color as well... not sure which color yet. Maybe wrinkle red? I broke my EGR tube so that's on order. Probably won't get done with it till after next week.
