"Great minds think alike, fools seldom differ" most people don't even know there is a second part to that saying.

Finished painting the frame.
Sorted out and tidied up some really old nasty wiring, just need to do something with that rotten old exhaust now.

What kind of paint are you using for the frame?

Frame looks awesome now. Really makes the exhaust stand out doesn't it?

If I can find a new bed for mine, I'm gonna replace my hangers and shackles and do this while I've got the bed off.

I used POR15 but did the full works...rubbed down all the loose stuff, used the Marine Clean to degrease, then the Metal Prep, then 2 coats of the Rust Preventative and then 2 coats of the Chassis Black top coat

Cheers bud. It's rotten! As much as I'd like to put a nice fancy stainless system on, I can't justify it, not for a 2.3 anyways. I'll just get a standard replacement from RockAuto.

I was toying with the idea of doing this, but once I'd rubbed it all down, the whole frame and the hangars etc were in surprisingly good condition considering we love to throw a load of salt down on the roads in winter here in the U.K.
There were some rust spots on the bed supports and inside the bed wheel tubs as you'd expect, but again it was all surface, so I gave that a good going over and painted those areas too just to treat and protect.

Figured out that my away bar is going out again. Only the 3rd time so far in a year.. then went and rescued a 89' I6 from a stalling problem. Feels weird driving something reliable and economical when everyone else around me doesn't... 🤔

Decided I'd rather have Mismatching tow hooks rather than one tow hook.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
New wheel studs, rotors and pads yesterday. Painted and re-mounted the exhaust with the muffler further back today. Sounds much better.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
Found out that the new condenser coil was too small compared to the old one. Evap coil seems to be the same, Does anyone know how to remove the blower/Evap housing from the engine bay?
