Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
I get Stanley tools or what ever a cheap. Yeah they break, buy so does everything else. I just don't feel bad if a $5 ratchet snaps, I just grab another one. I do however have a set that is a mix of better quality that I take hunting, camping and stuff like that. The last thing I need is a broken socket in the middle of the woods.

Any of my Craftsman stuff you just walk into Sears and get it swapped. Granted I've never brought a broken tool in, just worn out ratchets. This entire set is 100% lifetime and it was only $85

X2. Most of my tools are craftsman. Great warranty program.
My buddy is a diesel mechanic and swears by snap-on. I just can't justify the cost. He's got more in tools than i paid for my first truck. Lol.

Last time I tried to swap out a craftsman ratchet they wanted a receipt and said it was abused and wouldn't cover it anyhow. $85 isn't bad though. But I've had decent luck with the cheap stuff. I might replace one or 2 ratchets a year at the most.

Spline drives from craftsman are junk.. I refuse to use them I've never stripped so much bolts out. But ever since I got my Snap-on sockets I haven't had a problem. Just need to get the standard set now.

I just have an assortment of 6 and 12 points. I haven't had any issues. Even with Workin on my rusted POS.

I have those shitty tools... They strip after like 5 bolts (my 7mm is completly smooth inside because of taking off my radio bezel) and they got a little damp (humidity) and now everything is brown woth rust (yes I did immediately clean everything off)

I've never had that problem. They don't give you a brand new one ( neither does Snap-On ), they give you a rebuilt one or rebuild yours. I've had both.

I haven't had a single problem with mine and I use them all the time. I've been using the same design by Gear Wrench for years before Craftsman was allowed to make them and never had a problem with them either. Still use an old Gear Wrench set at work

I'd be fine with a rebuilt tool. Fact is they wouldn't even try to help me so I thought it over my shoulder and walked out. Never have bought another craftsman tool.

Lol I only had to take the lap belt from the middle out. The other two I cut around.

I wanted to only get the necessary ones out to remove the 60/40 bench to clean under the seats and the seats themselves, but i have lost hope for getting it out for now, maybe i will borrow my grandpas 3/4 in drive ingersoll rand impact with reducer for the next try, should be spectacular when either the mac socket shatters again or the bolt comes out
