Sold it, trusty rusty has been a great truck, unfortunately maintenance caught up to her, she will be missed, hopefully a new ranger is soon to follow!

Drove it around for an hour or two hoping the monitors would reset since I fixed the P0455 issue with no luck. Been trying to get it ready for inspection off and on for about 3 weeks now.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
Did front brakes. Had a really bad shake at around 40mph when braking down to zero... Figured the front rotors were warped. I believe one was. The brake pads were fine but, decided to go with Akebono since I have them on all of our vehicles. Also did wheel bearings and seals since I was there. No more shake. I guess this will last another 2-3 years like the last one. I've never seen a vehicle go through rotors like the ranger does... crazy..lol
Also had the rear view mirror come off... how fun. I bought the permatex rear view mirror kit which held the mirror for all of 2 minutes before adjusting it and it snapping off. Ended up using some 3m windo weld. That stuff is beyond awesome. Every time I have used it nothing ever comes loose after using it. It will be my go to stuff if I ever need stuff stuck permanently. Picture is after the mirror fell...lol

Removed broken e brake cable coming out of the cab, then realized that the guy at the autoparts gave me the wrong cable.

Nigel, just for future reference, the rotors usually aren't actually warped. The pulsing and shaking under braking can come from material transfer from the pads. Turning the rotors can eliminate that.

The console is from an Explorer. Looks exactly like the one in my Wife's 99 Explorer Sport.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
Only owned my Ranger two-weeks but changed the oil (had 2k on the oil) ordered and installed factory tow hooks (removed three years ago for towing behind motorhome),
ordered and installed floor mats, bought new tires (had E-rated 265 tires) ordered exhaust system (too quiet). Ordering a camper shell next week then it's done for now.
Great little truck so far.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
I looked at its twin brother. Mine is a 2000 ex cab V 6 auto in excellent condition at 242,000 miles. I looked at another 2000 ex cab (only 131.000 miles) for my grandson's 16th birthday. I didn't know some of the 2000's had two small opening doors on the extended part (like mine) & some 2000's like the one I looked at don't have the opening doors like my brothers 1998.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
Had a small handful of dents and dings fixed on mine.
Plus, ended up having good size rust bubble on rear bumper
cut out and welded, since shop was unable to locate the proper
rear bumper. They got a flair side, not the necessary step side.
Shortly after being let go from hospital(severe Staph infection),
I had an underrail Bullet spray in bed liner added. Any cracking, chirping or fading, it’ll be resprayed, free. Now, I just gotta find a hard tonneau cover, to fit a step side bed!
Aside from that, having bucket seats recovered is the only other thing I need done.
Then, I think I’ll be in good shape for a while!

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
Added a Derale E-fan setup today on the truck. Very nice product and works great if anyone is looking to upgrade their cooling system
