That's my exact opinion also having used blue . Red is the best option for night driving for interior lights . That's why a lot of higher end manufacturers use amber/red if not going white

Arrow Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

Installed a Lincoln town car/crown vic shifter stalk. It's nicer than the black one we have and it puts a better angle on it when shifting. Pretty straight forward install.

I also did the turn signal stalk. That unfortunately wasn't the case the first time around. I read the how to on the forum and it said to clip the wires. I did so and it was mess because I also clipped something else because I couldn't get the resistor disc out so I made a modification. That modification would then make the stalk not work properly, wipers didn't work right...etc I was super pissed. Ended up ordering a new shifter stock turn signal stalk knowing I would take it apart, and found another crown vic shifter stalk on eBay. This time around I didn't clip the wires rather snaked them through and it turned out 100% much better. First time I pissed 2-3 hours messing with it. Second time around it only took me 25 minutes since I knew how to take everything apart and put it together. I liked the old turn signal stalk because it angled downward but this is nice now because my knee doesn't hit it. It's not angled up like the newer rangers which I don't like at all.

TLDL: Took apart stock turn signal stalk. Removed resistor disc. Put it inside chrome crown vic stalk. Took crown vic stalk and used all internal parts of stalk turn signal stock. Screwed it all back together and now I have a cool turn signal stalk.

Overall two cool little mods. Adds a little nicer look to the inside. Sorry for the shitty pics, it was getting dark and I needed to get to work. Will get better pictures later.

Drove it 100+ miles one way to brother in laws, first time with the truck on a long trip like this, she handled it great, no complaints, averaged 16.5 mpg, coasting flat roads at 65 mph, I can live with that

Installed the visor above the windshield. Also replaced my Explorer seats with some from a 1987 Mustang GT Sport. Didn't like the headrests, so I pulled them out for now. Although I like the appearance without headrests, I may well custom fit something I find at the salvage yard. --- John

Climbed under mine to survey the underside of the bed floor. The center 1/3 0f the front crossmember is no longer there. Thinking up a way to take care of the floor, since I can't find a large enough patch panel, or a good flareside floor anywhere.
At least the frame is still good.

Put this fog light back in with the new switchback halo. I wasn't sure if I was going to use it for the turn, but for now it is hooked up.

Started prepping the bed for a bedliner, took the tool box out and took off the bed rail caps, sanded and primed the bed rail caps.

How coincidental, i just picked up the worlds cheapest custom DIY bed-liner

$40 from Coastal Farm & Ranch.

Half an hour with a tape measure and a hacksaw, it'll look better once it jiggles perfectly into place.
