Actually - no. I took off my drums and tightened my star wheel a bit. My ebrake wouldn't catch all the way on hills.

Which way do you turn those? I've heard conflicting suggestions. It's supposed to auto adjust, but mine is still not right.

Turn them up, or if you are using a spoon through the entrance to the drum on the backing plate, rotate down.

If you're facing the front of the vehicle, turn them counter clockwise to tighten. They auto-adjust after it's been tightened.

And definitely make sure you dont adjust them too tight! I had a vibration that tricked me for days into thinking it was in the front- turns out a warped new drum caused it. If you tighten too much you can generate the heat needed to warp yours. In my case I didnt even tighten the drum beyond just barely getting the ebrake to work- I didnt want to overtighten so I figured id let the auto adjusters do it.
On the last thread a member asked about the ultragauge, and another member mentioned his crapping out in a few months. To the guy who had his fail, where did you mount it?
Mine is only a month old, so hopefully I dont have that issue as well. I have mine mounted in the ashtray so it should be pretty well out of the sun.

Yeah, you can only tighten it so much to where the drum will still slide on, aka the shoe barely touching the drum. Just like the front where the pads slightly touch the rotors. My e-brake takes about half the distance to catch fully just by doing that.

Lol nice. Gotta color match the bumper! ----------
In other news I also "steam" washed the undercarriage. I have a hot water-only spigot in my garage that I hooked my water hose to and a nozzle on the other end. That shit was like 200 degrees since it's right next to my water heater. I ended up getting 99% of the mud off the underside of my truck. Been wanting to do that for so long.

All you really need to do is a drain and fill. If it's auto drop the pan and let it drain out, if it's manual Pop off the drain plug and let it drain out. That should be all you need to do

The only way to drain the entire system would be to flush it which can cause damage to a trans with a decent number of miles on it. Drain and fill is all you need.
----
And change the filter if there is one, but I think there isn't one on these trucks IIRC

Ah ok well i just turned over 170,000 and i thought that doing a full flush and fill would be damaging but i wanted to get a confirmation on it. Thanks.

There's absolutely no harm in doing a full system flush. As long as it doesn't smell burnt and your fluid looks a bit red still, there's no harm in it. That's what a flush is for. If your fluid is really dirty and may have sediments in it, drop the pan, clean it real good, refill, and 25,000 miles from now, do a flush.
