Mine has 130,6?? miles and still runs like new. I run full synthetic every 5,000 miles and change all other fluids regularly.

my 96 ranger 4.0 automatic has 188k on the mileage but it reads slower than it's supposed to (my odometer went up 1k since i got it and my mileage has only went up about 100 miles... so you guys can estimate however you want on it. mine still runs strong on original motor and trans, just shifts a tad rough going into 3rd when it's cold but once warm it's all good.

Considering my Ranger has 202k miles on it no 125 isn't a lot.

195K on the original motor and trans. Parking brake light on the dash flickers though. lol
I have had some small stuff I had to replace. The biggest thing I did was a cam sync replacement which is common for the 3.0s and that wasnt that bad to do at all.

My 99 3.0 auto 4x4, bought with 118K, two years later at 128K motor crapped out. Was told a bad fuel injector caused it to run lean, then a spark plug detonated and damged cylinder/valve..etc...
Put in a new rebuilt one from ford around, Now 4 years later, I have about 48K on the rebuilt motor, running good. But did have to have the tranny rebuilt last year, lost my reverse, the reverse band snapped. $1800 for that.
Now my truck should run for a long long time, lol.. so i hope.

So if you ask me if 125K is alot... i am 50/50 on that. Like its been said before, it all really depends on how it has been taken care of.
I think i just had bad luck with a faulty fuel injector.

Anytime you buy a USED vehicle, there's a chance you are just buying someone else's problem. But then again, if you buy brand new, there's a chance there still may be problems, and you can only hope its covered under that little thing called a "warranty".

I really hope my truck last for a couple more years. I depend on it everyday to get me to and from work and then school after work. Over 100 miles a day.

Yours being a 2 wheel drive, and probably a stick shift... i am sure you can count on it running for a long time. Stick/manual transmissions go for a long time, may need to replace a clutch tho, but even if the tranny does go out, finding/fixing a manual is alot easier than an automatci.

My first ranger was a 95 2wd with a stick and a 2.3l 4 banger. Bought it in 2000 with 70K, traded it for my 99 in 2005 with like 148K.
lol paid $6500 for the 2wd, and paid $6900 minus $2k for my trade in for the 99 4wd ext cab auto.

The only thing i ever did on my 95 2wd other than basic oil changes, was a full tune up, cost me like $250. Can't remember what all was done, but i know it was spark plugs and wires, fuel filter, and a list of other stuff.

If the guy took care of it changed the oil all the time you should be good. if a auto check the tranny fluid and make sure its all clean. my buddys 99 2.5 has 175,000 miles on it and original everything. so 125,000 i say is nothing
^this, if the previous owner has kept all the regular maintence up. i wouldn't worry about. mine has 173,000 and had some issues. but that was cause the previous owner used an abused it. but anyway, if the previous owner kept the maintence up on it. i would go for it.

Ok what size motor is it u rebuilt? I have a 3.0l from a 98 I am going to try to rebuild, could use some advice.

Also, did u go from an automatic to a 5 speed?
How hard and costly is that conversion?
I would love to turn mine into a 5 speed!

Thanks
