This thread is reassuring to me as I plan to keep my '09 for a long long time! I will keep up the maintenance and treat it right.

not sure about others - maybe some exhaust mods that won't mess with Cali emissions.

Isn't 125k prime time for trans failure? And head gasket failure?

My current 2001 Ranger Edge is the 3rd ranger I have owned now. Both previous trucks had well over 300,000 miles on them and were still going strong when I sold them. I now have 160,000 on this one and she is still going strong. Take care of them and they will take care of you. Use good synth oil and change it regularly and they will last!

my 99 has 127 on it and runs perfect. I drove it cross country in January without a hiccup.

my friend had an older 2wd 90s ranger with 300k and it STILLS runs. and that was with us beating the hell out of it, jumping it, sinking it, flooring it for 60+ miles at a time and im pretty sure he didnt even change the oil every 10000 miles. those old rangers are absolute tanks.

1992 Ranger STX 161K, just put new tires and shocks on it. Looks ugly but runs great. Original engine, original clutch, original tranny.
Was just thinking today that had it been a newer one when I smashed into a guard rail 2 months ago it's be shattered b/c of the plastic material they use now. Instead it's just bent out of shape in the front left corner.
