Re: Ranger For a Raptor
You've got a point, the Raptor's suspension would be good on these NJ roads, especially after how torn up they got this winter.
People seem to have the wrong idea of New Jersey and it's people. It seems that most see the whole state as a suburb of New York city - which is far from the truth. There are some pretty good trails over in this part of the state to test the suspension. I'd love to have the long travel for some of the areas around here.

Re: Ranger For a Raptor
I would love to have a raptor. Let us know what you are doing.
Me personally if i had 10ks saved up i and get that much for a trade in i would buy a brand new truck i could pay off so i wouldn't need to worry about a payment

You drive a ranger for a reason. I dream all day long about the truck I want but I drive a ranger because its practical and I love it. Unless you have come across some money that you didn't have before, moving from a ranger to a raptor is long shot. I don't know what your finances are like but wouldn't a more practical move be to maybe just an F150 4x4 or something? I mean the raptor is cool but i don't see it as a truck somebody should drive every day. Looks more like a toy IMO

I'm bad at math, but I had to click this thread just to see the theory involved.
If it works out for you, I want pictures! I've only seen one and I spend most of my day driving around town (property management).

Re: Ranger For a Raptor
If u can swing the payments i'd say go for it! But take into account the difference in insurance, gas, and an added car payment. It's going to be expensive no matter what.

Re: Ranger For a Raptor
For the difference in price, why not just keep the Ranger and mod the hell out of it?
Think of all those crazy mods that seem unreasonably expensive. Now imagine running a customized truck like that vs. a super expensive, but still stock truck like a Raptor. Imagine replacement parts cost for a Raptor F150 vs. a Ranger.

and the fact that the warranty on the raptor does NOT cover any thing that breaks while offroading it.

Re: Ranger For a Raptor
A Raptor would be tight! I checked one out the other day and it's looking awesome! If you can afford the payments and the other expenses, go for it! If it were me, I would drive the Raptor on the weekends because of gas. If you do get it, post pics!

Yes I looked into this :/ and the reason is, they dont need a deal to sell these things. they acually cant build them fast enough. lol And I would keep my ranger and mod the hell outa it but the money id spend on it I could just get a 2011 Raptor... lol its got an amazing suspension that feels like a land rover on the streets vs. a lifted ranger with a rough ride... Locking rear dif and 35s are very expecive... but they come with the raptor. and as far as gas milage if i lift my ranger mgp is gunna go down correct? and my ranger has literaly half the HP the raptor does....
But now that Im not goin to get any money off and Im staring at a $42,000 price tag I must wait and save more money. and Im still not completly sure it Im going to get it. but if I do I will throw pics and a few vids of me jumpin it up here.

Re: Ranger For a Raptor
So a long travel kit(4k) and 35's(1k) and a locker(1k TOPS) which equals around 6k, will be more expensive than a 50K?
