Properly aimed - fog lights shouldn't project very far at all, however during a dark night - they still contribute to the "ball of light" other drivers see.

Compared to those clowns - running factory fog lights 24/7 is absolutely nothing.

I am currently doing an HID retrofit on my fogs. As I am planning on doing the headlight mod so they will stay on with headlight high beams, I will get some use out them on high also. But yes they will be aimed appropriately.

I see plenty of a-holes with plug and play crap. I won't ever go that cheese ball route.

Fog lights or driving lights here are not against the law. as long as they are properly aimed.

The silly thing about using fog lights on a clear night is the FACT that they don't improve vision down the road whatsoever.
If someone is coming the other way on a single lane road with their fog lights glaring, I'll give them a taste of the own medicine.
They may not be against the law where you are, but they are dangerously blinding on a one lane road.......and for those who have somewhat compromised night vision, even worse.

The stock Rangef foglights do not blind oncoming traffic. They aren't as bright as the lowbeams and shine onto the road.

The high beam fog light mod is probably the single most thing that has improved my downroad vision. High beams and fog lights I can literally see everything.

I AM looking forward to it. The HID retrofit make a huge difference, this should help as well.

I always drive with my headlights on. Lights on for safety.

And when I had a car that had fogs that could be run without the headlights I ran them all the time as a DRL.

I only use my factory fog lights in medium to heavy fog, but that's just me, as I find my factory headlights on my 2011 XLT Ranger put out plenty of light, even for my old tired 65 year old ones. If they are aimed properly then there should not be a problem using them anytime you want to, I would think.
