You still get better mileage than any 3.0 and 4.0 on 31s, I always laugh when I see someone with a 4x4 v6 that posts that they get 12-14 mpg. 12-14 is what an ex cab f250 4x4 5.4 gets.

I also use common sense. I dont go 40 mph on speed bumps. Nah man, my truck is good for now. My 2010 2.3 has 200 thousand miles on stock balljoints. I might get new balljoints at same time i get the new 2 inch coils.... as u know money talks !

Quik question... in your opinion if money is tight which ball joints should i have the suspension shop replace at same time of new coil install, top or bottom pair? assuming both top and bottom joint boots are good...

On the highway I am getting close to stock mpg. Around town its a bit less but the 10 minute winter warmups don't help.

I'm just messin with you, yeah don't hit speed bumps at 30, I did that once and dented my roof.lol.

Imo if all of the ball joints seem tight and don't have excessive play have them replace the lower ball joints because they are the hardest to change, have them do the lower control arm bushings too. Upper control arms are very easy to change, just jack the truck up, remove the tire, remove the bolt holding the ball joint in the spindle, then remove the bolts holding the arm at the frame.

[QUOTE=Garfield;2414770]I don't see why everybody is hating on the original poster for wanting big tires on his 4 cylinder. Look at Suzuki Samurais and the old Toyota trucks, lots of guys are re-geared and running giant meats. I know the 2.3 Ranger is 2wd, but still...

Here's a better shot of mine. 31s are probably as big as I'll go, 32s max but that's only if I ever lift it. It still has plenty of power and drives nicely with the big meats.

First off. Garfield you have damn good looking truck. those wheel/tire combo really fill in.

I run 31s on my truck and they don't rub what so ever. Power wise i never noticed a difference with it when i ran 235/75s. Gas millage stayed the same as well. Mine is a stock 06 2.3 2wd auto with 4.10 gearing.

Ive been looking for pics of that truck for a while now, it looks great. Do you have any idea what suspension specs are? It must be lifted.

Motorcraft hood scoops only. Other brands will cause a miss.

If you got a 2.0 or 2.3 in the 80s if you're good enough shape you could out run them in 1/4 mile.
