that actually apears to be worse than it probably is. its hard to really say a dollar amount but i would be suprised if insurance totals that. with the absence of frame damage, i would have to guess in the $5-6k range for damage and only guessing on your trucks value, i doubt it will be enough to total it.

Or he has liability insurance and didnt want to report something that was going to do nothing but raise his rates...but he was probably drunk

Have you thought about a cab swap? Engine, trans, frame, driveshaft and all that good stuff is ok, you said... I cant see the pics on this comp so I cant tell what the damage is, but a cab swap might be cheaper than a bodyshop raping your wallet.

For the record I had not been drinking what so ever. The sheriff and highway paytrol man came out and tested me. I was completely sober. This wreck occurred because of slick tires and wet roads. And just driving to fast. I lost control by swerving to dodge my friends car and then after i swerved I overcorrected and began to fishtail. And second of all I only have liability and I DO NOT want my rates to go up. It appears to be only cosmetic damage and nothing inside in the engine was damaged. I am just getting the bare minimum fixed to make it drivable. I can always go back later when i have the money and repair all the damage. It looks like I will need a new hood, fender, front bumper, and grill.

Ah, screwing around with friends on the road. That will do it every time. I hope you learned a valuble lesson out of this. Those mailboxes could just as easily have been people or kids playing in their yard, another car, a utility pole, or a tree.

I'm gonna laugh my ass off when your "holier than thou" ass wraps your truck around a tree. How 'bout helping and feeling a bit of compassion for a persons loss, instead of berating them and trying to make them feel like shit.

First of all, I have wrapped my truck around a tree and quite nearly died. The state police didn't believe I was actually the driver because I was actually still alive, even after watching the fire department take me out of the wreckage strapped to a board. The difference is I didn't do it by horsing around on the road and had nothing to do with being holier than anyone. It was a steep hill and black ice. Next?

Second of all, at no point was I berating him and trying to make him feel like shit. I pointed out the potential ramifications of his actions and how he was lucky this time. Maybe you think learning from mistakes is stupid and everyone should just hug it out and pretend like nothing happened. Fine, that's your choice to be ignorant. Just don't make things up and put words in people's mouth in the process.

Whateve dude, you did the same thing in my thread when I wrecked my truck, and told me I was stupid. We know these things, and it doesn't take you to say what was done was stupid. We can look at the truck and see that. You've been there with a messed up truck, so I would think you would understand, but I guess you assume everybody else is an idiot when something bad happens to them.
