Got a black ranger with a little chrome but I wanted to give it a little bit of a red accent to it. Wanted to paint the tow hooks and the door trim in side flat red and maybe the piece around the radio. Not sure if anyone has done this with there ranger but wanted to see what people think about that. And wanted to paint that black piece around the handle flat red and change the boots around the shocks to red. I also have a red stereo and sub woofer and red led lights under the dash

I personally believe painting somewhat random pieces a different color makes it look odd. Sorta out of place.

Especially when talking interior pieces.

That said, many guys have done it & enjoy the look. So if you like it (which is all that matters) - make it happen!

Was thinking the same thing but I got a couple of red things inside the cab. And wanted to change the boots around the shocks red

I'm a bit closer to acceptance if talking exterior items like that...but I could see it go "too far" in a hurry though! lol

I have a black 04 FX4 that I have added a few touches of red.

The rear differential cover is red, as well as the front calipers and rear brake drums.

On the interior I haven't added any red accents other than the double din stereo I've swapped in has changeable LED colors and that is red. I'd like to put red LEDs under the dash.

Whatever you decide to do... I wouldn't "paint" anything...

I would vinyl wrap the interior pieces...
And Plasti-dip the exterior pieces...

That why, if and when it looks out of place, or gets old, or you want to change it again.... everything is reversible and you can go back to stock.
I agree with above poster about somewhat "random" pieces...

I think to pull off accent colors better, you need more of a "theme" and more of the truck needs to be tied into that theme...

On one of my first cars I had something like Pirelli's and they had a thin sidewall reinforcing band that stuck out and I stripped it red...it looked way cool...but in those days baby moons were all the rage also lol.
Point being you could also red up your tires and wheels.

Check out the Raptors...very bold graphics going on from what I've seen.

I'm not a fan of different colored interior pieces but I think the exterior stuff would look good. I think you should paint it up however you want though. It's your truck, so if you like it, who cares what anyone else thinks?

It's pretty easy to find spare parts at a JY or on CL or even on this forum. Even if you screw up or do something you regret, most of the stuff you're planning on painting isn't going to be expensive at a JY. I say go for it and post up some pics here when you're done.

Thanks guys for the advice. Was thinking about painting the tow hooks this weekend and since I am getting new shocks I'll get them red. And about the plasti dip idea I would love to do that but the red is to bright. I am looking for a matte dark red Color

Not a fan of the painted random interior pieces, especially when people paint them the color of the body of the truck. Now red pin stripping on the body of the truck would look cool.

My black Edge has the factory red striping and red Edge markings and red FRF 3.0 Vulcan on the tailgate. I am getting black 16x8 wheels with the redstriping on them and General Grabber red letter tires.

Decided to go with mossy oak camo vinyl for the pieces instead of red, should be here next week or little later. I'll post pics of it when it is all done
