Ok I was wanting to see what people think about this idea I had. I wanted to put a 40 inch light bar on my rack, and before anyone says it won't light anything in front, I have a 20 inch light bar in my grill. Here is a pic of the rack I have and wanted to hear your opinions

I built a set of brackets for my 42" bar and it sits at the back of my cab with plans of mounting it to the front of a basket on my camper shell. Personally I prefer the bar farther back because I have ZERO hood glare. The light travels well and that 20" bar you have up front will take care of the area in front of the truck.

I say go for it.

I did not even think about the hood glare. Now I just got to save up money for another light bar lol

I have been in other people's trucks with it right above the windshield and at night the hood lights up like Las Vegas. Even that far back the spot beam in the center of the bar still throws the light very well but like you said does not illuminate directly in front of the truck. Its usage is more lon range at that point. I think you will be happy with it. Fazda93 had his on a roll bar before he moved his to the back of the cab and was pleased with both set ups.

Good ol' eBay. I think it was $104 shipped for the 42". For the price I am very pleased. The funny thing is, that bar and the 22" on my brush guard appear to be completely sealed but the pair of 18" CREE pods on my fenders have condensation in them. Go figure. All of them came from eBay.

Cree makes excellent LED's. But they don't assemble automotive lights. Whichever second source assembled them is who failed to seal them up.
