3.0 was for the 5-spd. The auto was mated with a 3.2 and an extra 5-10hp

There wasn't exactly an "interceptor" model, but there were used as a patrol car. They used a different grille with slits in it.

Still miss mine. :-(

Here's the police grille. The cop car pic isn't an SHO, but they did use them for unmarked a lot.

You remember seeing anything other than Vics and Caprices back then?

Pretty easy to sneak up on people in a 220 HP Taurus!

And obviously the SHO is used as a patrol car now. That's their new interceptor.

The new Taurus police interceptor is a good car but the Explorer is better (main reason being it has more room for equipment). But nothing can compare to the crown vic, that was one hell of a cop car.

It's like the 1911. Like it or not, it's got that history to it.

Yeah, the Explorer is pretty nice too. Apparently they both have more usable room than the Vic interceptor.
I'll look for the video real quick

I owned a 89' Ford Bronco XLT, bone stock. Loved cruzin around in it. Had a lot of power. Towed my project 66' International Scout 800 from Cali to Washington. Had it for a year before getting rid of it, at the end it was a money pit. Now I own my 2000 Ranger XLT, plan on keeping her for a while, while I go to school.

Can't find the video. It was right before they came out and a Ford guy was giving an overview of them.

They're both supposed to have more room in the seating areas than the Vic. Even the cage area

When it first came out, Yamaha built 3.0l. Came with Z rated tires. My Dad had one, thing was FAST...

When I was a kid, my parents had a '77 LTD. It was a two door, and each door was about 8 feet long.

My first truck was a 1989 Ranger XLT regular cab, 2wd, 2.3L manual transmission, long bed. Drove the crap out of that thing. 235,000 miles on it when I got rid of it.

Second was a 1993 Ford Explorer Sport. 2 door, 4x4, 4.0L, manual transmission. I sold that one to my parents' neighbor back in 2004 when it had 189,000 miles on it. He's still driving it.

My current is a 2000 Ranger XLT extended cab, 4 door, 4x4, 3.0L, manual transmission. It has about 192,000 miles on it (though I replaced the engine at 157,000), and is still going strong.

Of the three, the 2000 Ranger is probably my favorite, but I really, really miss the old Explorer. If my Ranger had a 4.0, it would be by far my favorite of the bunch.

'89-'95 was a 3.0 V-6 with a 5-spd. 220 HP and 219 to

'93-'95 had an auto option. That was a 3.2 V-6 with 225 HP and I think 230tq.

'96-'99 it was auto only. 3.4 V-8. I can't remember the specs. Like 230hp or something

Well, starting with the family rigs growing up.

Mom had an '89 Bronco II, Dad had a '91 Ranger standard cab 5-spd. The Ranger got traded for a '95 F-150 4X4 with an auto and 5.0. Then that went on to get traded for an '03 Windstar. So glad I was out of the house by mini van time. Lol

That got wrecked by a drunk driver and now she has an '03? Taurus.

I started with an '81 Ford Courier with a 4 on the floor. She was a beast who never let me down.

'91 Escort GT - got wrecked
Got '91 Taurus SHO jet black on black leather.
'91 Fazda B2300i
Some old Escort for $400
'96 Fazda 626
Traded the SHO on a brand new '04 Fazda 3s. 2.3 5-spd
Another 80's Fazda truck for $400
'94 Ranger Ext cab 4.0 Auto
'01 Fazda Millennia S. 2.3 Supercharged V-6
'99 Ford Ranger 4.0, 5-spd, lifted, 33" Duratracs, etc. ( current )
'03 Ford Escape V-6 4X4 ( current )
'01 Ford Escape special. ( current )

I think I missed one or 2
