So my grandfather's 2009 ranger has been sitting around for quite a while now and I would always joke around asking him when he's going to sell it to me. Well, that day has finally come. He said he will sell it to me for $9000. (No I'm not going to buy it for 9k then sell for 15k) At first I was all for it, but then I did some investigating and thinking. His is a 2009 ranger sport with 31k miles its bone stock.
Runs and drives great
2 door ext cab (there are no half doors that open)
There isn't any fold out seats
4.0 SOHC manual trans
Cosmetically both trucks have very minor scratches

As for mine I have a 2003 ranger Fx4 with 124k miles
4.0 SOHC auto trans that needs a rebuild
2 door super cab both back doors are getting pretty rusty both passenger doors are rotten out. Bed is rotted out. But I have a clean bed and pass door just needs paint.
6 CD changer radio
Just had it undercoated at ziebart 3 weeks ago.
Brand new NASCAR style rims with 31x10.5 BFG all terrain. (Still has a couple titties on them)
If I'm not mistaking I have the 4.10 limited slip axle and the heavier duty suspension stuff, but I'm not positive.
Needs ball joints
Everything else is good
Other than that they are just plain Jane old ranger.

Is it worth it? Any input welcome!

Just put up a pic of what the underneath looks like. Sorry its sidways. I dont know how to fix it, haha hope you guys can see it. But it's exactly the same all underneath the rust is just starting to pop up. It's been in northern Ohio since 2009.

I would say take everything you can out of your old truck and put it in the new one! Haha

Alright seems like the sport is the way to go. I'll be back in Ohio at the end of this month I'll drive it around see what kind of balls it has, and go from there. I just always thought they were a little different.
