Default Re: Found out today I don't have ABS

Just a quick note and link for you guys.
Here is a link to a client of mine. Lives close by.
He has built and owned several burnout cars, as
well as collecting. They are all Mustangs.
Some of this work is absolutely amazing.
There is some pics in there with Scott Hoag, if you
know him. He is a visitor and friend of this guy.
Scott has helped Ray aquire some of his Stangs.

Anyway this is one reason where ABS proves to
be a handicap.

Yeah, maybe to you it wouldn't make sense, but you see i live in quebec, and roads are often covered with ice for days at a time, so the main thing abs does here is create a false sense of control.

I was driving a car equipped with the second gen of GM abs, and the brakes were completely unresponsive till i started using the handbrake. Instead of slamming into the car camping the stop ahead, i was able to move around it. Lucky for me i've hung on ice tracks and played in malls' parking lots during winter, so i had some ice driving experience (but not an expert..).

I though my RABS was pointless in my 200 up until it didn't work and I slide though a red light on wet pavement.

Then I was like. Wow. Didn't realize how much that helps/
