2009 Ranger not sure if Fx4

Hi I'm looking at buying a 2009 Ford Ranger Fx4 from a private dealer. I noticed it on a side road 2 hours from my home city and it was very enticing but after reviewing some of the pictures I'm starting to believe it may not be a Fx4 as advertised. Since its so far away from me I can't really check any of the details.

For starters it does not have Cruise Control, Power Windows / Locks, Sliding Rear Window, Fog Lights, Front Tow Hooks, White rimmed gauges and the interior seems off. I'm worried someone just threw a FX4 Decal on it when its really an XLT. Following the Ranger Model Breakdown Sticky I notice the rims are 16'' Twin spoke optional for sport 4x2 supercabs. I realize that these are just superficial things but I'm unable to actually pop the hood or even look at the VIN. I'll throw some pictures up and hopefully someone can tell me if its features are that of a FX4.

IDK, but also have my doubts. Looks like an Edge to me but would would hafta been ordered without power pkg. Also, pretty sure FX4 would have tow hooks.

It has the tow package in the back but looking at the pics i don't see the front Tow Hooks (maybe just the lighting) I think the biggest thing that is bothering me is the sliding rear window. Try as I might I havn't been able to find a fx4 that didn't have it.

Looks like a "sport" being it's mono chrome rear bumper and fender flares. Also has base interior. Looks like he replaced the front bumper with an XL bumper prob a fender bender. Also he replaced the tailgate with an actual two tone fx4 and slapped fx4 stickers. It's not an fx4

I would move on. To many random replaced parts.

sigh i guess that explains why he only wants 7,000$ that should have been the first red flag. Sucks because its in the shop right now getting a full inspecation so i'm out 125$ (and all the gas driving 2 hours from my town back and forth)

It wouldn't totally scare me off. For the right price I could look past different body parts as long as it was fixed right

I wouldn't walk away simply because wrong stickers and a diff tailgate. If it runs good and the crash report is good, why not? Idk what the mileage but it looks clean.

Why would an fx4 have no tow hooks? Even its not am fx4 it comes stock with tow hooks. That points toward front end collision.

Hence I said if the vehicles crash/accident history is clear. If it's been wrecked, I wouldn't touch it. The op hasn't checked it out yet or talked to the owner about the history and the mismatching but all I'm saying is until more facts come out, I wouldn't just toss the idea of this truck.

Edit: Just read more. So I take it the op has seen it, since there's an inspection. Has the original owner cleared up why there's diff parts? Car fax?

I did read that part but I wouldn't trust what the person had to say unless it's family. Just my opinion on the matter. History is easy to hide.
