Default Nooby here with general idea what I wanna do, and some ?'s

As my sig reads, I've got a 2000 Ranger XLT, currently stock. My truck is an everyday truck, I want it to look good and turn some heads, but I want some functionality to it also, as I do like hunting, mudding, and general off roading fun. So, here, I'll present some ideas I've been looking over, and I'll ask some questions that I can't find the answer to on the forums, or if I happen to miss it LOL. Anyhow:

As for wheels and tires, I'm looking at 35" Dick Cepek Crushers, and 15" Mickey Thompson Classics. I'm unsure how much lift will be needed or ideal or other things will be involved in that, nore how I'm going to prevent/minimise rubbing. I also don't know how the ride will be afterwards, hopefully not too rough!

I hate the 60/40 seats! I want to change those out, and have looked at Explorer seats, and those in a Jimmy, and am not too sure which I'd like more, or will work best.

I want to make a custom dashboard. Not the trim, but for use. It would be nice to add in a GPS bank, a tight spot for CB, and a spot to plug my cell phone into and keep it handy for blue tooth. I'm sure there are other options out there, it's just fun to say "My dash is custom".

Would be nice to fill the gap between the seats with a console with a "Hidden" lockable compartment for things such as sterio face, my Glock, etc. Shouldn't be too tough to do, likely one's already been made, just haven't found it yet.

I think the bumpers will have to be fabed. I saw a fairly heavy plated winch bumper with a pre-runner, fog lights inset, and KC lights , but it was for larger trucks. But, it's pretty much what I wanna do in the front. The rear I'd like to be pretty heavy too, with enough stepping surface to mess with stuff in the bed. Probably have to be fabbed as well. Would be nice to have a hitch in it, and set up for CB antenna.

Sort of what I'm thinking for the bumper, I believe this is made by Trailready. In fact, it's exactly what I want, but, in a my ranger's size LOL.





I was thinking about the possibility of losing power due to the lift and tires, so, to correct that, and make sure I can push through whatever I need to, I was thinking of dropping a 302 in with cold air.


And, so far, that's all I can think of. It's alot, but, the idea is I'd like to build my truck for what I plan to use it for.

Things I don't know about at all.....

Redoing the fenders.... I'd like to mold the fenders to flare out over the new meats, and not look like an attatchment. What is the best way to do this? If fiberglass better for this, or can it be done with metal?

Cold air intake, is that better with hood scoop? Well, would look cool anyhow LOL.

Cutting in a sunroof, is this tough to do?

Any ideas, tips, suggestions, or light flamage?


Anyhow, I've had some people mention I ought to just buy something else, but, I own this truck outright, and see no reason why I should dump the money into someone elses ideas when I could do the same into my own ideas.

2000 Ranger Etx cab XLT 4.0L Auto trans. Currently I've got my 60/40 cut down into buckets, and a cheap walmart console to fill the gap. Working on gathering parts, paint, vynals, and such for the rest of the build LOL. I use this as an everyday truck, but it's also the only truck I have for hunting and general off road fun. Hoping to make it much better than stock!
