Default sucking air... sounds cool on Rangers

so i passed this ranger going the opposite way of me. it looked stock besides the rims. The engine sound sounded so cool. it sounded like it was sucking in alot of air. I know that cold air intakes are pointless but is that what made that awesome engine sound?

Maybe removing the "silencer" from the intake?

If I maintain the proper throttle position, it sounds like turbo whistle, and at full throttle it roars. My friend says it sounds like a "retard bark" when I punch it. "Duuuuuuuuur!"

Could have been the air box mod

Unless it was a whistle sound and he had a turbo

probably some sort of intake or intake mod as said earlier. my K&N kit sounds good under throttle.

probably had an intake. I just run a hi-flow k&n cone filter on my stock intake and it is because I like the way it sounds when you get on the gas

Could also be a throttle body spacer.
