God I love your truck,,, they're marketing them in Mexico as well,, not sure if the import will be a hassle though. We've exported North American rangers into Mexico in the past. Wasn't that hard, pay fees and that's it. Don't know the deals with importing foreign vehicles into the States

In the past 3 years, we've seen at least 2 more models of the F150 be released. Ford has no interests in the sport compact truck market. For the amount of money it would take for Ford to retool their factory along with the cost of materials and labor, they're not going to take the risks of losing their butts on an old outdated platform that might or might not sell. That and it would cost nearly the same amount that a new fullsize model will. It's time to accept the facts and move on.

Hey, after this thread and additional research I sadly accept the fact that nobody but Toyota is building a <=200" pickup. Hope they don't give it up too.
Arrived at our summer place yesterday, by the way, and the 2002 Ranger fired right up. Love that sucker! Beat-up, plain vanilla, 130k miles, and I'd climb in it and drive across the country tomorrow if I needed to. A/C is even still working fine, though it's never been maintained in any way! Don't know what a rebuilt engine or tranny would cost, but if big problems ever arise I'll sure consider going that route. Of course here in Ruidoso I don't have the 200" problem, but why should I abandon a loyal old friend?

Re: Resurrection?
So there is nothing you can so about your 200" parking space that dictates the choice of your truck?...that is un-American not to go big.

New Ford Ranger's length is 210.67 in. Almost as long as F150

That's not a good idea buying the new Ranger in Brazil. It's prices go from 28.200 simple cab ethanol/gas to 67800, double cab diesel. Prices in US dollars....

Re: Resurrection?
We all know deep down that as soon as you own your first ranger you will secretly crave an F-150.

Re: Resurrection?
Not me. I had an F350 crewcab dually for a couple years, that got me over the big truck thing. Needed it to haul an RV around, but that part of my life is now history. Gas guzzler, EVERYTHING of a maintenance nature was expensive. Love my little Rangers.
The 200" thing has to do with garage depth. Front 30" or so are taken up by built in cabinets and workbench, so that leaves only 200" for a vehicle. Fact of life.

I felt the same way at one point about my old beast which is now getting destroyed by my uncle (he doesn't take care of it and he's already backed into twice). The point where I realized why going to a fullsize was practical was when I started having problems getting parts for my ranger. A prime example was the clutch and clutch cable. It's a ford only part and it will set you back around $950 bucks to have a new one installed. The other thing was the fact that a new ranger before it was discontinued would cost as much as a new F150 does. That along with not being physically able to drive a vehicle equipped with a manual transmisson due to multiple surgeries pretty much made the decision for me. Now after owning a Silverado for over a year, I won't go back to a small or midsized truck again. It's actually cheaper to own the fullsize than it is the smaller one.
