Default camper shells?

i just got a 2002 ford ranger (regular cab?). this is my first truck, I wanted to get a camper to safely carry my dogs in the back, and had no idea they were so expensive. I have been searching through craigslist, and am wondering what camper shells that maybe were on other trucks, would fit my truck? thanks!

What color is your truck? There are camper shells that regularly go for $300 or so, just keep your eyes open.

haha yeah, $300 is looking a bit too expensive for me right now. I bought one today for just $20 that would have fit with some modifications, I busted the back window when i was cleaning it so i gotta get a new one. lol. just wondering what other trucks campers would fit mine, so i dont have to drive out just to see if one fits.

any ideas how to cover that back window for cheap?

If you only paid $20 for that shell I wouldn't feel bad at all about sealing up that broken window with clear plastic (lowes, greenhouse dept.) and duct-tape.

Shells are expensive, but if your just getting it for your dogs you might consider simply getting some old lumber and building a "fence" or walls that fit into your bed like you see on those old-timey pickup trucks and can be pulled out when not driving the K9s around. Would be easy enough to do if you know how to use a hammer and nails.

Check Craigslist daily, and it will show up for cheap.

Trust me, I found mine for my Longbed for $75.00, but had to replace the thandles that didnt lock.

try plexy glass rather than plastic. you should be able to see through the plexy glass better. as for others that will fit I don't know I just got my 2010 ranger three days ago.
