Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
I had the oil changed, the tires rotated, and a brake inspection. Luckily, the brake pads are only 1/2 worn, but I feel that the previous shop charged me for "Premium" pads yet only used "standard" ones.
I, too, noticed before about the oil level on the dipstick after having 5 quarts put in (which the 3.0 requires). I liked the older ones better that had a low and a max instead of the cross-hairs. The manual states we don't have to add oil between changes, but with 90% of my driving being highway and a daily commute of 50 miles, I need to add a quart between changes. Depending on my mood, I have the oil changed between 3500 and 5000 miles.
An odd thing I noticed today was that the reminder sticker used suggested my next oil change in 3500 miles vs. the 4000 miles that the previous sticker said, and I didn't change brands or type of oil used. It took the same 5W 20.

How exactly do you seafoam the ranger?
|
All vehicles are done the same way depending on what the problem may be, or follow the directions, which say to pour 1/3 in the gas tank, 1/3 in the oil, and 1/3 in the vacuum hose. There are numerous posts on this site and online, including videos showing how it is done.

I just filled the tank up with gas, and then added a whole bottle of seafoam to it. After about two tanks of gas taken down to about (E)mpty, replace your fuel filter
----------
That's how I've always done it and it's always helped and never hurt! On the bottle it says 1qt for 8-25 gallons of gas... Full tank for me is 16 gallons(ish?), therefore I use an entire bottle

Went on a short road trip in it. I'll be spending a few days at a friends property shooting and riding my atv! Sadly I still haven't gotten the 4x4 motor yet so no trail riding this trip Aggh getting a gas mileage reading tomorrow to see what my combined mileage is city/highway
