I have a 5.0 out of a mid-80s F150 or Crown Vic/Grand Marquis. The previous owner ran it with no oil for a while and put fresh oil in it right before I bought it. Bad rod knock

I don't think a 4.0 will bolt up to a T-5 trans. I could be wrong though. I'm looking into buying a 5.0 long block from an 88 Mustang. Complete motor manifold to manifold. It's been sitting for 5 years though.. So I might buy it and completely rebuild it.

Didn't the 4.0 manual mustangs have the T5?

You might be right actually. I'll look into it. I'd rather have a 5.0 though. Complete rebuild and a cam is what I'm thinking.

I'm swapping to a 5.0 soon that's why I said it. Y'all keep watch it will be for sale on here along with Craigslist I kno these engines are hard to come by

You can use a M50D-R2 from an F150 and the 5.0 supposedly bolts up to it. You just has to bore out the bolt holes a little bit in the transmission. Plus it can handle the 5.0s torque.

The 5.0 will bolt right up to my T-5 as well. It's a Mustang T-5 that was recently rebuilt. And the 4.0 Mustangs did use the T-5. Good call.

Took the 600# forklift counterweight out that I was using for winter weight. Just didn't like the way the truck sat with it in there. Replaced with around 200# grindstone I had sitting around, along with 4 concrete blocks, maybe 3oo# now.

Hooked up my 1300w pioneer 12 sub and pioneer 820w amp. My single cab has got beat now haha
