so i paid a frined to change my oil today snd he put 5w-30 instead of 5w-20. nice. should i be expecting any problems or do i need to change my oil again tomorrow?

if you want to spend the money, go ahead. if you are broke, then no. I mean at the end of the day its still oil but these engines were designed for a certain oil so it would be better to go ahead and change it again but is it worth your money and time? idk.

^ Probably not going to make a huge difference. Just remember the next time to use 5W 20 as recommended.

Only difference in 20 and 30 is in the colder months it'll be a little thicker. Really not that big of a deal. I wouldn't change it until my next scheduled change.

I always run a little thinner oil in the winter. Why did you pay someone to do it anyway? No offense, but it's just an oil change. All you really need is a pan and crescent wrench. No Jack or anything really needed.
Again...no offense intended, just curious.

Dropped her off at the dealership with a grinding/whooshing sound coming from the front of the engine. They called me @ 1130 and said bad tensioner pulley. Said they will have her all fixed up and ready for me by 4:00.

Had that problem with my old 94'...went to Autozone, popped the hood and stuck my ear down...found the pulley cracked in 2 and the case was rubbing.
$40 and 10 minutes later...problem solved. Unfortunately there's really only one POS model, but for $40...
I'd love to see your final bill for a 15 minute diagnosis/repair and $40 part retail

before work i decided to cut the 2 foot of pipe after the muffler off, now the truck has a slight rumble!
