Changed my oil. And changed my transmission oil too. Oil change went smoothly. Never changed trans oil on a car before so when it was draining it hit an air bubble or something and exploded on the drain pan and showering me with trans fluid. Oh well, got it done and my truck is happier for it.

I installed a new used front diff. Removed the old diff with the locker. My brakes where shot so I got new pads and installed them.

So as usual, I post a couple days worth of Ranger updates. But whatever, here's the long and short of it all...
Yesterday, I did the striker plate adjustment trick after much research/building up my confidence and ended up with doors that rattle way less, seem to fit better on the body, but I ended up with a stripped screw on the passenger side striker plate, and I'm not able to adjust it as it opens with more difficulty. Doh! I .also wrapped the hoops on the striker plates with some electrical tape and that helped a bit.

For today, my buddy and I loaded it up with firewood from a couple places and after taking it to his mom's house, my tailgate latch wouldn't open! I was annoyed to say the least. I used a screw driver to unlatch it, and we were able to unload the firewood. After taking him home, I got out my tool sets and got to work on seeing if I could fix the tail gate. After undoing some screws on the panel, I could snap the handle back in place, so the repair was done without even needing to buy new parts or tools in less than five minutes! Problem fixed and a little ego-boost for myself.

Finally had it towed to Boyd's Automotive


About 2 weeks ago, I was dropping my sister off at school and while I was in the car line, my oil pressure dropped. It didn't fluctuate. It DROPPED. The needle flipped so fast it made a sound. I was very confused to say the least! I stopped at a stop sign on the way out and the truck just stopped. It cut off. I had to pump the gas to get it back on. I rounded the corner at the stoplight and as soon as the vehicle stopped moving, it cut off again. It refused to start again. Had help from a couple guys to push it out of the road. Tried everything. Couldn't see an issue. I checked my coolant (which I refilled the day before) an it was GONE. Tank was bone dry. I'm extremely confused at this point. We got it towed back to the house and replaced the starter. Still didn't work. I looked at the coolant tank. THERE WAS A PIECE OF DEBRIS FROM THE ROAD GOING THROUGH MY COOLANT TANK. We had the engine checked out and it had overheated so badly from the complete loss of coolant that the inside of the engine welded itself together. I don't know wether this was my fault or not to be completely honest. Hahahaha.
