Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Headed to class, in this F*CKING snow again... I hate this shit, its not bad snow (maybe 1" or more) but my Ranger is 150% 2WD-On-Road vehicle.. I see little jap-mobile rice burners doing better in the snow sometimes... I cant wait till summer when my truck drives it's best..

Sounds to me like you either need better tires to grip the pavement, more weight in the bed, or updated driver skills since Rangers with 2WD are not that bad in little snow.

I did the same thing, replaced multiple brake parts, and it turned out my 4wd was loosening up on me due to a blown hub. Idk what your truck is, but check for rotor looseness anyways.

I do need new tires, I seriously doubt its operator error seeing I know my truck and you dont
I have Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's on the Ranger right now, bought a couple years ago. Not overly impressed with them in snow

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Installed a factory 3rd break light into my topper. Will wire up the cargo lights to the lights LED rope lights that i will be running inside the topper. It was quite scary cutting into it, i hate cutting holes in things always gets tense, but seems to work out!

Mines a 2wd. I'm hoping that it will only be air in the brake lines. I'm not that great when it comes to brakes haha

A 2WD Ford Ranger is a 2WD Ford Ranger. I really don't think they change much from one model year to the next. Also, I've had a 97', an 02', an 04', an 06', and an 08', and only the 04' was a 4 *4. Even with crappy stock tires, I didn't have an issue with winter. A little research would show that the Firehawk Indy are performance tires, so I'm not surprised when your experience in wet snow being poor.

Oh, you're one of those people who assume because you have ex: 2 or more rangers that all are the same or that you are an expert on how my ranger operates, 12 years after production ... Okay, I now see your logic.
Whether it is completely faulty or not, its your mindset ... Gotcha

Let me help out here.. I'm a tire expert I've worked at a tire shop for over three years (wether you think I am an expert or not is up to you). But I can say that having the right tires on the truck makes a world of difference if you have crappy tires then your truck will perform like crap, now stop fighting you too were here to help each other not fight

Not fighting, this is the internet, I was simply giving my submission to the thread. Nobody asked a question. Yet he felt the need to respond to mine. Again, mind you that there was no question asked.
If he doesn't like comments on threads then he can feel free to leave the forum.
I am aware the Indy 500's aren't wet performance tires, but that's what is on my truck and has been since Jan 2010.
But if you read his statement, its almost like because he has 3 or 4 Rangers, he knows my truck.. That comment was rather amusing to be honest with you...
People can take things how they want, I probably took his comment in the opposite way he meant it, which I don't see how, but anyways...
Its the internet. Nobody needs to act like a tough guy - "Don't write checks your ass cant cash" - Cuz somebody will call you out on your bullshit, that is all..

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Had my thrush welded put on! I was a bit skeptical but I must admit it doesn't sound half bad for a 3.0 v6...
