You can. Sand the chrome down good, prime and paint. Use quality stuff
Of coarse paint isn't as durable as bed liner.

Changed oil... BUT it was a pain in the ass. Got it done at a quick change place last time (Against my better judgement, but I was out of town and the girlfriend was driving it. She does not change oil.) and apparently they don't lube the filter gaskets with oil because it was seized on like a SOB. Tried by hand, with oil filter wrench, oil filter wrench with sandpaper for more grip, and finally the ol' screwdriver trick. It STILL didn't come out. So I ended up taking an old bracket I had from some piece of trash and screwed it to the bottom of the oil filter. The bracket had a half inch nut welded on it so I used a socket wrench. MFer finally came off of there. 15 minute job took me almost an hour and a half.
