^ Colorado must be strickter than Ohio because our environmental testing of vehicles is an idle test. We get out of our vehicle, and it used to be put on rollers at such and such a speed to determine carbon emissions output, but the last time I needed the test done, something was put up the Ranger's tailpipe.

What's lame is that newer vehicles have to be tested period. I mean how many newer vehicles fail an emissions test? Most citizens aren't stupid, and it is just another tax and something the E.P.A. requires. I think that I'd rather pay an extra $20 in registration fees (if we're going to have to waste a trip to have a worthless test done anyway). The good news is that vehicles aren't tested yearly and the fee was waived. The program has been changed so many times that I don't even know the requirements anymore. I think that my 08' Ranger has only been tested once in the five years that I've owned it.

Just finished buttoning up my ohc and had a couple of issues but I got it all figured out (thank God for the ability to use the search button). Also added some tag lights in my rear bumper.

In Montreal Canada we don't have regular emissions tests lol. Worst that can happen for now is cops pull you over and send you for a 48hr. I think they are going to start annual tests for cars older than 8 years though

Wanna bet? I just commented that my 08' had to be tested in 11'. Also, my mom's Taurus, which I believe is an 04' had to be tested this year. It used to be yearly, then every two years, then, it was phased out, and now vehicles four or five years old or older are required to be tested, and every two years again, I think. If you watch t.v., Lube Stop is running a special commercial that a select few of its locations and a couple stand-alone State Emissions testing centers are self-serve vs. having to take the vehicle to a State Emissions Center during normal business hours. The state couldn't scrap the program because we are under contract with the independent company that does the testing, but I believe that the state subsidizes the fee now, which is why it is "free" for most drivers. If one fails, then he/she can get retested, I believe, also free within 30 days, but after the 3rd time, the driver is charged. The whole program is a scam and an added tax by the EPA because, again, how many new cars fail? I think it is under 1%, and cars are so much more efficient today, but drivers log more miles. Also, only certain counties, and surrounding counties, with the worst air pollution are targeted, which is unfair. When the program started, drivers were using false addresses to avoid having to pay the fee and undergo the hassle. Plus, I could still illegally drive w/o performing the necessary work to my vehicle to make it comply with the EPA standards.

I had a 2001 Mazda Pick up towed into the shop , he was rear ended and pushed into another truck . The Insurance wrote it off . The only thing not damaged was the Tunnel Cover .

The insurance company calls the wreckers to come scrap the vehicle . So I get the call there comming in 1 hr have the vehical ready for pick up. Yep I took the Tunnel Cover just before they got there. Why scap the cover ? Recycle I always say !! Best part of it all it was a black truck . Free is always better !
