Mine wound up being the float, had a pin hole in it and was full of gas weighing it down.
Made the hole a little bigger and drained the gas out and soldered the hole closed.
Placed it in water to make sure it had no leaks. Then put it all back together.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Just got mine back after having brakes a replaced.
Actually cost me less than what I was figuring.
Now, just need to listen for possible brake squeal.
If they do, I'll need to do something with drums/rotors.
Mine are right on the edge of good!

Picked up a new bumper and valance for 40 bones! The guy was a douche but whatever! 40 bones vs 138 for the valance? And a bumper as well? YEA!

Washed, clayed and waxed. But paint is hazy and smeary (you can see swirls where I applied wax looks like a shadow embedded into the paint) no matter how much I rub it doesn't come off! Any suggestions? I know this isn't the detailing thread but it's what I did today :P
Also, products used was microfiber applicator pad, colinites insulator wax, and microfiber cloth to remove wax
Mcguiars yellow soap and mcguiars clay kit

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Replaced the Cam Synchro and sensor. turns out I only needed to replace the sensor but since it was already getting worked on and I had the part I did it anyways. As per usual the magnet came loose. bearings are still very good and the magnet did little to no damage. If anyone needs the Synchro let me know You pay the shipping and I'll send it for free!

THAT SUCKS! Kinda made me laugh that it was for the photo contest. I think you should post the pic and the story... You atleast deserve to win that!

Drove my truck to work, school, SEARS, then home. I filled it up with gas and got 15.55 mpg.

I have put K&N filters i every vehicle I have owned since 2001. I have never been able to notice and difference in power if there is any difference, it is minimal. I believe you would have to do more mods to feel a difference I have experienced a slight increase in MPG though.
However, I just put it in, and it is too early to tell just yet.
One nice thing about having K&N is that every time it is at a shop for whatever reason (inspection, oil change, ect.) they never try to sell me on an over priced air filter replacement and labor.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Not much, just replaced the PCV valve and the valve cover breather hose on the '98.
