I woke up early this morning and installed the new Taurus fan onto the radiator. Everything went in seamlessly. I idled the truck for ~30 minutes with the A/C on the highest setting, and the temperature never went above 177 degrees. The highest it went on a quick drive to Autozone was 183 degrees after I floored the throttle, and it immediately went back down. At the moment, the truck is outside idling with the A/C on high and the temperature has settled in at 176 degrees. If I would've tried that with the old fan, the temperature would've climbed steadily and never went back down. I'm very happy with it. All said and done, it cost me about $80, but the fan itself cost $13.

For anyone interested, here's my fan control switch. The single line indicates the low speed setting, and the double lines indicate the high speed setting:

You can weld it but that wont solve your problem it'll just crack again around the welds where it'll be the weakest . The only solution is get an insert made that will fit inside the rail snuggly . Then drill and bolt it in. This is accually how I fix truck frames at work whether it be a Pick up or semi tracktor .

Pressure washed, hand washed, then pressure washed again;

Oil changed, cleaned some dirt out of the door panels and dash with degreaser and a toothbrush.

Ordered new shackles and mounts.
The passenger side rear shackle snapped with my son driving it today. The end of the leaf spring is up touching the bottom of the bed.
Driving lesson over. Limp the truck home. Avoid bumps.

Ramp day at a local 4x4 club's Show & Grime.
Truck scored a legitimate 525 on the front, and stopped at 590 on the rear because the bumper was hanging up on the ramp.

It's a monster. The truck sounds like a jet while idling with the fan on the high setting.
