That's the speed limiter kicking in. You have to program it to go any faster. Mine tops out at about 117 or so with the speed limiter raised, but it's not worth the increased risk to go over 90. If you gotta go fast, I would recommend a sports car. ;-)

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Bought this truck for $600. 4x4 didn't work. So yesterday I tried the cheapest easiest fix and replaced the switch. $30 later it works like new. Caught a rare break!

Geezzz lol sounds scary!
Today: Got a new coax for the cb, installed coax and hard wired the cb in, cleaned the engine up, cleaned MAF sensor and throttle body, now it runs like a brand new truck!! It's amazing and I can't wait to see the mpg difference! Now doing a brake job on my brothers 94 ranger... Ugh -_-

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Today I took off the gay looking mud flaps, did the air box mod, Filled it with gas
(3.76 gal) lowest price in seattle area. Bought and installed new Bosch wipers. And I went to the car wash and degreased/cleaned the engine. Although now my serpintine belt wants to squeel. I don't yet notice any more sound from the engine with the air box mod, but I didn't get it on the freeway either.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Put a new battery in, I came home from being out just long enough to change for work and go, but i came out, turned the key, and nothing. I bumped started it, got to work, and then had to use a jump pack to get it to start to get home. alternator tested good, and i just though it was the starter relay, but a new battery later and its good as new. old battery was at 12.5 static, but when i turned the key it dropped to like 4...smdh

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
I just changed the alternator/regulator on my Mazda B3000. I remember
I bought the 1998 truck new Nov. 26, 1997 by searching all of CA
for what I wanted. I looked seriously at ordering from Ford but got
such a good deal on the Mazda, both engine and body indicating manufactured by FORD! I used to be a Chevy truck man, V W Van
guy and will probably buy Ford next! I will probably buy a car and
just use my truck for occassional truckin' and camping.
