Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
damn sounds like you have some underlying issues going on, an air intake wont cause that... you should change out all the fluids, tranny transfer case if you have a 4x4 diffs, lube the undercarriage and then get to the heart of the issue, is it running good, is it dragging, have you checked the brakes for a sticky brake? is it a lot slower than it used to be... that sucks.
but now i have yet to do anything to it but pack it up, in about an hour and a half a bunch of other rangers will be here and we are gonna go camping and play in the hills and get the 4x4 engaged!

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
It's running fine, no problems at all, I'm due to change my brakes in like a thousand miles, could it be cause I need a tuneup like new plugs and wires

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
that could help, but if its running fine then i doubt its causing that much of a fuel mileage decrease... sounds like something deaper... have you sea foamed it? and replaced your fuel filter and air filter? cleaned all your sensors? man 12 mpg is not good, also is that around town? and how are you driving? if i am on mine hard i only get like 11-12 around town, but this town is hard to get good mpg in town.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Yeah I seafoamed it around a thousand miles ago at max, it's only got 45k miles on it and it's been taken care of pretty good, my dad took care of it when he had it and same with my grandpa. I haven't cleaned any of my sensors I was goin to clean my maf sensor tomorrow at work and idk what other sensors to clean. Yeah it's mainly around town, I do kinda step on it alot, I try and get up to the speed limit as fast as possible so I get my revs up high. Also I step on it alot whenever I'm on the highway I'm always drivin at like 80 or higher.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
ha there is your problem, cleaning the sensors might help a bit, but the biggest thing that will help with MPGs is staying off the skinny pedal, accelerate slow, stick to the speed limit, and use cruise control. if you can stick to that for one full tank i bet your number will go close to 20 if not higher.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Lol but I like feeding speed to my ride hahaha. What sensors do I need to clean besides maf? I've seen the writeup on here on how to do that I just need to buy the cleaner lol
But yeah I filled up yesterday and reset my ultragauge completely, just curious do you know how big my tank is? I've heard it was 19.5 and then I heard it was 18
Also can I add my intake back even tho it's not a legit cold air intake? I have pics of it on my profile so you can get what I mean

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Took off my bed, painted the frame, cut off the rest of the spare tire mount, put the bed back on, sanded down parts of the bedsides.. Then got most of the way home, then realized that I forgot to plug the tail lights back in under the bed. So pulled over on the highway and almost had my door taken off. Goin back tomorrow with some paint and painting up the bedsides again.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Today I finally fixed the rear door of my Ford Ranger that had been rattling.
I believe they only sell them by the box so now I have extras for later use.
Don't forget to put loctite on the upper seatbelt retaining bolt.
