I cleaned out the throttle body today. It was really nasty. I used one of the how-tos here as a reference. Truck runs great now.

Changed my own oil for the first time and put in Full synthetic, also cleaned the battery post and clamps.

Ranger is currently getting new exhaust from the manifolds back. While the engine is out, since the manifold bolts had to be drilled out its also getting a new valve cover gasket and rear main seal. Man by the time this is all done I'll save a ton on quarts of oil. lol

.....I'm just wondering if this truck had a ton of power and ran great with the valve cover gasket leaking and the exhaust leaking from the manifold, what will it do after all that is sealed back up properly?

Just finished putting on a Gatorback belt. Wasn't that hard once I got the right belt. I should know better. Take the part in and tell them, I want this. Will see in the morning if it fixed the squeak. I checked all the pulleys and the only one noisey was the alternator and that was very slight.

Anybody know why all of a sudden it would take my Truck a few more clicks than normal to turn over... (SORRY FOR THE HORRIBLE ATTEMPT AT MAKING MOTOR NOISES) like I turn the key and instead of getting the "der derrrr Vroooom" ... I get a "der der der der der derrrrr vroom"?

The Battery seems to be fine, could something like the starter motor or something be going out? is there a way to check this?

run some zmaxx throught it and clean or change your spark plugs..did that with the honda i had and it seemed to help

Should have left the FRF stickers on it. IMHO, it could help your sale from the aspect that not only do you truly care for your Ranger, but you have the knowledge on how best to maintain it.

Was it cold or warm outside. Could be as simple as thick oil on a cold morning. Sometimes takes a few more cranks to get started.
