Default Selling the truck. Price Range?

Well, I'm selling the truck. What do you all suggest I sell it for? kbb.com's suggested retail price is somewhere around $6,200. That's for excellent condition; of course mine isn't, but considering the mods, I'm not sure what to let her go for.

Well, I think its time to get a newer truck. Still sticking with a Ranger though. Just trying to look for a decent color (not white) and 4x4. I'm still going to make it a prerunner, but take good care of it more than I did this one.

As for selling the mods; I don't think I'll be selling any parts unless I can't find a buyer for the truck.

you'd be uber lucky to see 5k.

this is based on not knowing mileage, not knowing overall condition of truck.

Yeah. It's got 103K Miles. That was inputted on kbb.com and $6,200 was the retail value. Like you said though, I'll be lucky if I can get even that.
So you think 5K?

Good point. I'm most likely just going to do a trade in.

If you trade it in, to a dealership, take as much mods off it as you can. talk to them and see what they'll pay you for and what they won't. For example, some dealerships say to take out your tool box and snow plow and stuff like that because they won't give you shit for them. Cause i work at a dealership and they throw away K&N air filters and stuff like that. they want the car to be as stock as possible because the market for people who actually know about those types of mods, as aposed to the ones who do, is much higher. So my suggestion is to talk to the dealership first and ask the following questions.
-how much for my truck right now?
-how much for my truck without (insert cool mod that you'd take off)? and so on.

that's just my 2 cents tho. It's always a sad day when you have to get rid of your old truck that you've loved so dearly.. i hope you dont get screwed. haha.

Yup I'd listen to him, next time you get a K&N filter that's the cone type for a 97 Ranger you should snag that for me if they are chucking it....I'd pay lol

i'm always on the look out. i'm sittin on 4 right now that i can't seem to find a home for. they'll probably go on ebay when i find the time. but i will for sure keep my eyes open. don't hold your breath though. they are few and far between. if you're lookin for one, try ebay. i got mine off ebay used for 9.99. i just recharged it and called it good.

But yeah, dealerships will screw you over. they will try and get the vehicle as cheap as they can. most of the time that is. so yeah, see what they'll give you with and without some of your stuff, and go from there. good luck my friend.

*or you could have some drunk bitch hit your truck and you could get more for it. i got 7500 for my 99. haha. i think we all know it probably wasn't worth that much. but i do not wish that on anyone. bad news bears..

Lol I am checking ebay right now. And a dealer is looking at your truck like a pawn shop looks at your crap you bring in, at least that's how I think of trade ins. I'd rather just sell outright (ha ha fat chance I'm selling either truck EVER!!!) and get more for it.
